Having noted that Africa in general and Cameroon in particular, in terms of communication services and electrical energy, the demand is increasing, the needs are increasing, Delectability and telecommunications companies are unable to meet the demand. Our goal is to create not only several between the different countries that have a lag on the communication technology, by this very fact we want to be pioneers in the distribution of the material of its services. Based on these national and international experts, we did a fairly thorough study and we found the profitability of this market. the communication market is increasing every year by about 10 to 20%. this market amounts to OUR OBJECTIVES & CHALLENGES: - Exploit this market and expect to capture a 10-20% market share. - Production of broadband equipment meeting consumer requirements - Conquer the market for the supply of 3G and 3G+ technology equipment and in the long term 4G and 5G, also switch to UMTS technologies. ; - Earn $42.2 million by year four, with a gross margin of 31.7%. The production costs of VSAT equipment and transmission antennas will create a very strong net margin. - . Access to information is expensive nowadays. Our goal is also to make access to information available to people in landlocked areas in order to limit rural and international exodus at a price accessible to all social strata. As the current market for telecommunications services is open, we are going to make “a social economic project”.

Located at the armpit of Africa, Cameroon is the main entry point for goods bound for neighbouring landlocked countries like the Central African Republic, Gabon and Chad. These countries rely on Cameroon's ports (Douala and Kribi) for their import and export operations. This remarkably increases the volume of goods passing through these ports. Time is money, and cargo passage time at the port and the time the cargo takes to travel to its destination along with associated transportation risks definitely has an impact on the cost and value of the merchandise. It is with a view to reduce port dwell times that the Cameroon National Shippers' Council has proposed anticipatory customs clearance procedures through the implementation of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note. This document enables shippers to initiate customs clearance procedures even before their goods arrive at the destination port. In addition to this, the CNSC has embarked on the construction of trucker accommodation centres along the Douala/Kribi – Bangui/Ndjamena corridors to guarantee the safety of persons and goods. These facilities stationed along these corridors (Kribi/Douala - Ndjamena: 1819km, Kribi/Douala - Bangui: 1435km) provide rest areas and parking lots for truckers plying the corridor. Considering the distance, it will take a couple of days to have these goods arrive destination. Certainly, driving under very difficult and strenuous conditions. Driving for long hours on not very good roads exposes drivers to accidents which also puts their cargo at risk. The CNSC trucker accommodation centres are there to give drivers an area where they can rest, park their trucks away from the busy highways, and guarantee the safety of their goods while they rest. All these services are paid services but the rates applied are very affordable. The high affluence of truckers is what guarantees the financial productivity of these facilities in the near future. The CNSC already has three of such facilities up and running. The first is the Dibamba trucker facility situated a few kilometres from the Douala seaport (Littoral Region). The second is the Ngoulentang trucker facility (Centre Region) situated along the road leading to the Eastern region of Cameroon and there is a third in Kribi (South Region). Three others are envisaged one of which is situated in Kousseri (Far North Region), a few metres from Cameroon’s border with Chad. The foundation stone for the Garoua-Boulai (East Region) trucker accommodation centre has been laid and construction works are underway. The CNSC hopes to erect another facility of the nature in Ngoundere (Adamawa Region).

AGRO-VILLAGES GROUP, SA is built on solving these problems by creating a network of agricultural development hubs. This platform provides smallholder farmers in its network with a combination of training and cutting-edge technology for efficient food production to promote food security across the Sub-Saharan region. Imagine a network of Agricultural hubs as one-stop resource centers where farmers can find farming resources (Education, services, and products), and markets for their products. We envision modern and innovative food production to create Agricultural-related jobs in order to tackle women/youth unemployment and especially reduce poverty hunger and inequality. Cassava and Vegetables Cultivation Development Our plan is viewed to develop the cultivation of cassava (one of the main staple foods in Africa) as a food security crop, this will be 50% of our production’s activities. We’ll also intensify the cultivation of vegetables in our greenhouses and lands, and plan to develop livestock and fishing farms. Cassava as a food security crop Cassava plays a food security role in areas prone to drought, famine, and in periods of civil disturbances. The crop's ability to provide a stable food base is a function of its flexibility in terms of planting and harvesting strategies and because of its relative tolerance of poor soil and pests/disease problems. It is also widely appreciated as a low-cost carbohydrate source for urban consumers especially where it is available in convenient forms for working urban housewives. This project consists of transforming raw cassava into Cassava Cake (Paste) to facilitate the work of the producers of Attieke and Placali, and into HQCF (High-Quality Cassava Flour) as a substitute for wheat flour for bakers, pastry chefs, and culinary seasoning manufacturers. The project is an initiative aimed at guaranteeing constant quality in the production of Attieke, reducing the production costs of Attieke for producers in terms of time, and labor, and finally improving hygiene. Cassava flour is the response to reducing wheat flour importation. The project thus responds not only to the problem of outlets for cassava but also to the youth unemployment in rural areas because it aims to encourage more young people to start growing cassava. Clearly, this project aims to supply cassava paste and flour sequentially throughout the territory and in the sub-region with products that respect the rules of hygiene and food safety in terms of quality and quantity.

Project Description Sector Total Value (USD Million)

The COVID 19 impact highlighted the vulnerability of the informal traders as well as the lack of social protection schemes to provide timely individual and business support, especially to those operating in the urban cities. to offer support to the informal traders the government of Lesotho lacked social registry systems. The size of the informal economy as a share of the GDP in Lesotho is one of the largest with most jobs expected to be created in the informal economy. the informal traders will continue to be the lifeblood of our economy. The existing problem is that the informality of the informal economy is low productivity, limited access to basic services and limited financial inclusion due to low earnings. the project goal is to scale up the social protection schemes for informal trader/workers in order to build resilience. The informal sector is heterogeneous and includes, in addition to the poor population, has some financial incapacity to save for retirement. For this group, the main challenge to extend coverage is the absence of savings schemes customized for their needs. Hence the need to establish the social protection insurance options to cover informal workers as well as self-employed. Failer to use the social protection intervention is limiting the potential strength of the informal economy in reducing the poverty and increasing the economic power of the use of electronic systems for doing business in the informal economy. The informal traders will be able to collect data, to offer financial Serivices for the traders such as access to business loans to 10 000 plus members in the cross border and food processing value chains.

The Government of Malawi (GoM) through the Ministry of Energy (MoE) received financial resources from the World Bank towards the costs of implementing the Malawi Electricity Access Project (MEAP). The development objective of the MEAP is to increase access to electricity in Malawi. The mini-grid financing facility (US$10 million) supported the development of feasibility studies for at least 10 mini-grids prioritizing agricultural loads, schools, health facilities and enterprises in peri-urban and rural areas. The Ministry of Energy Carried out this upstream work of conducting FS studies to allow private investors to select favorable sites suitable for Mini – grid development. One of sites a feasibility study was conducted for is the Nakaona-Nzoola site. A feasibility study of the The Nakaona-Nzoola mini-grid project showed that the project was viable and that it would comprise of a central power plant – solar PV + battery storage + back-up generator – and associated distribution network providing electricity to 26 surrounding villages that are within a radius of approximately 3km from the power plant. The potential electricity customers to be served by the mini-grid comprise of approximately 4,686 households, 275 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), 43 three phase customers, and 60 public institutions that are spread across the 11 zones .The power system consists of a solar PV plant with battery storage system and diesel generator backup. Electricity generated by the plant will be distributed to customers via 33kV feeders, power transformers and low voltage (LV) power lines that comply with the Malawi Grid Code and ESCOM’s network standards. -Physical features The site is located on undulating territory at an elevation of between 1200m and 1500m above mean sea level on a plateau above the Livizi River. SRWB faces challenges of high population growth, urbanization, and high-water losses in its water supply centers. The increase in socio economic-growth has resulted in extended settlements that need access to potable water and sanitation services to be provided by the Board. Thyolo Boma is among the areas facing huge challenges in the water supply. Supply to Thyolo Scheme is sourced from surface water from Nsuwazi River. The scheme has two intakes on the river namely Mpeni and Nsuwazi. The Nsuwazi intake has not been operating for over five years now as the pumping main was cut off due to road works. The catchment area of Nsuwazi is degraded resulting in heavy siltation during rainy season which makes it impractical to rely on Nsuwazi River especially during this period. However, during the dry season, the river is considered capable of supplying the required demand for Thyolo. Being an old system, the Nsuwazi treatment plant needs total rehabilitation work. Thyolo Scheme is currently supplied from Mpeni intake upstream of Nsuwazi Intake. The system has a conventional water treatment which currently produces 1,014 m3/day while current demand is at 4,412m3/day. Future project demand for 2050 is 7, 681m3/day. At Mpeni, the efficiency of the pumps has deteriorated over the years to less than 50%, as a result, the Board is only able to provide water at a maximum of 10 hours per day which is less than the 18-hour minimum requirement. The Water Supply pipe distribution network at Thyolo has a total covered distance of about 60 Km. The pipeline network is not adequately covering all the supply area and the extended settlement around the municipality. The storage capacity of the existing water tanks totals 1446m3. The largest is located within Mpeni treatment plant with a capacity of 1000m3 while the other is an elevated concrete tank with a capacity of 446m3 located within the Town centre. The storage capacity is inadequate to meet the storage requirement for the current demand. Frequent long power cuts also result in low production for the scheme. It is hence, crucial that the board finds an alternative source or backup energy source for its treatment works. In addition, the encroachment of the catchment area for the river which has encouraged runoff and siltation calls for a proper catchment management plan to be implemented. The main objective of the project to upgrade and extend the existing systems at Thyolo to improve hours of supply and increase the water supply coverage by reaching out to unserved areas as well as improved sanitation for the communities. Catchment rehabilitation is essential for sustainability of supply. The project is targeting the communities within Thyolo Boma and surrounding areas. The project will benefit a population of 65,650 people by 2050 at a population growth rate of 2%.

Luchenza Municipality is a municipal council in Thyolo District. At present, the Municipality has a number of social, cultural, and commercial infrastructure and facilities that provide services to the population of Luchenza and the surrounding areas and is earmarked for upgrading to a secondary city. Water supply to Luchenza Scheme is sourced from groundwater through boreholes and surface water from the Likhubula River. The groundwater quality is so good that it does not need sedimentation or any form of filtration. Chlorine dosing is carried out to ensure that the water is safe. The scheme has three operational boreholes augmented by supply from the Likhubula River. Flows in Likhubula dwindle during lean periods of the year. The challenge has been aggravated by the Blantyre Water Board (BWB) located upstream of our intake. Raw water abstraction is rationed among the various users though it’s not resolving any challenges. The total average existing production capacity of the system is 6.6 litres per second. The water is pumped through a pressure pipeline to an elevated pressed steel tank and gravitates to supply areas within Luchenza Town. The same system supplies Chiradzulu Teachers Training College. Water is boosted from Luchenza to Chiradzulu Teachers Training College, 11km away from Luchenza (Picture 7) discharging into an elevated tank located within the school premises. On average Luchenza produces a total of 966m3/day while current demand is at 6,354m3/day. Future project demand for 2050 is 11,063m3/day. The treatment plant is also earmarked for Goliati-Nansadi and Mulanje System with a total capacity of 35,000 m3/day. The treatment plant is expected to be supplied from both Likhubula and Thuchira Rivers and is strategically located to supply all schemes through gravity. The Water Supply pipe distribution network at Luchenza has a total covered distance of about 76 Km. The pipeline network is not adequately covering all the supply areas and the extended settlement around the municipality. Most of the existing pipelines have inadequate sizes for the required flows. The storage capacity of the existing water tanks is 350m3 which is inadequate to meet the storage requirement for the current demand. The main objective of the project to upgrade and extend the existing systems at Luchenza to improve hours of supply and increase the water supply coverage by reaching out to unserved areas as well as improved sanitation for the communities. The project is targeting the communities within Luchenza Town and surrounding areas. The project will benefit a population of 94,556.
