Ms Gemma Mbegabolawe is an international trade, investment and agriculture expert. She is currently employed as Executive Director- International Business at the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) Regional Office in India. Her role is to facilitate investment from India to Botswana as well as marketing Botswana goods and services. Ms. Mbegabolawe has worked for the Botswana Government: Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education and Embassy of Botswana in Belgium as well as with the United Nations. Her professional experience spans a period of more than twenty five (25) years. Ms. Mbegabolawe’s key areas of expertise include investment policy, investment and export promotion, marketing; trade policy, international trade law, trade negotiations, WTO and regional trade agreements; industrial policy; diplomacy; project management and education. Ms Mbegabolawe holds a Master of Science degree in Management of Natural Resources and Sustainable Agriculture and a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education obtained from Agricultural University of Norway and Botswana College of Agriculture respectively. Additionally, Ms Mbegabolawe has attained the World Trade Organization (WTO) Diploma in Trade Policy, and has also participated in a number of other courses which include: Third Country training Programme: Investment Promotion for African Countries, Trade Facilitation - Using efficient Trade logistics as a driver for export competitiveness, Trade Remedies and Antidumping course, Regional Workshop on WTO Dispute Settlement in Agriculture and Regional Clarification Workshop on Multilateral Trade Negotiations in Agriculture;
