I am a seasoned Senior Civil Servant/technocrat and served at Top level management in government and International duties in the capacities of Permanent Secretary, operations, in the Ministries Finance & Economic Affairs, Petroleum & Energy, Trade & Industry, Transport, Public Works & Infrastructure. Programme Manager, Debt Management Department, West African Institute for Finance & Economic Management (WAIFEM), Deputy Project Manager, 3rd Education Sector Support Programme, over the years both in The Gambia and overseas. I hold a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham in the UK and trained in multitude of prestigious professional Institutions & Academies. I am highly trained in statistical packages including Debt Database (Debt-pro), SPSS, eViews, both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques. Member of The Gambia Economic Society, World Association of Debt Managers, & Network of Debt Managers (DMF). Holds WAIFEM Awarded for Excellence Service, Order of The Republic of The Gambia (ORG), HIPC Capacity Building Leadership fellow, Distinction Graduating student in 2003, University of Birmingham Business School. Earned number of honored recognitions for sterling performance in public service. EXPERIENCE My work career started as a young cadet debt specialist with the Ministry of Finance in August 1994 rising through the ranks to the position of Permanent Secretary in 2013. In between i took up appointments with the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) as Programme Manager, Debt Management Specialist from 2006-2010, appointment on secondment as Deputy Project Manager, 3rd Education Sector Programme supporting the transformation and re-organisation of the Gambia’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE). I also undertook a number of consultancy assignments for the AfDB, UNDP, FAO, ECOWAS, Debt Relief International, and Government of The Gambia during a short spell outside public service 2015-2016.
