Mr. Tobias Alando is the Head of Membership Development & Governance at the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Mr. Alando holds a wealth of experience in addressing investor’s needs within and out of the country as well as experience in Promoting Public private Dialogue, capacity Building, policy and advocacy in engaging the government agencies in addressing key concerns of business.
Mr. Alando successfully led a program at KAM & supported by the Danish Institute of Political Parties (DIPD) & Liberal Alliance on Fostering issue based political dialogue.
He has been involved in developing of County Business Agendas, which are business advocacy tools for use by the Business & civil Society Coalitions towards structured dialogue with the County Governments and has successfully facilitated Governors round table sessions across the 47 Counties in Kenya
Mr. Alando is an Alumni of CIPE’s Chamber L.I.N.K.S. (Leaders, Interns, and Knowledge Sharing) program organized by Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is a new initiative designed to provide ‘rising stars’ of CIPE’s partner chambers of commerce and business associations overseas with the opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills in the United States. Mr. Alando was selected amongst the 9 rising star Chamber staff across the world to participate in the Chamber LINKS program in the US in 2007 and was linked to Rapid City Chamber of Commerce (www.rapidcitychamber.com) where he successfully participated in the Rapid City Leadership Program hosted by Rapid City Chamber of commerce, Rapid City Area, South Dakota USA/Reference Linda Rabe, Executive Director.
Mr. Alando holds a Masters in Management & Leadership at the Management University of Africa. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Marathwada University in India and a Postgraduate degree on Information systems Management from the same University. He also holds a Diploma in Private Sector Development from International Swedish Institute for Public Administration (SIPU)-Sweden and has been involved in advocating for positive business environments for existing and growing businesses in the Country.
