Personal Profile
I have been an active member of the private sector in Uganda and the East African Region for the last 36 years since I founded Rank Consult (U) Ltd, the leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Company in Uganda, in 1983. During this period in addition to being the company Chief Executive Officer I have acquired 36 years of consulting experience and an appreciation of the socio-economic conditions in which the private sector operates in East Africa. I was the Board Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Ltd from 2002 to 2012. I am a member of the Uganda Private Sector Foundation Advisory Board. For ten year from 1994 to 2004 I was a panelist on the Capital Gang, a popular and influential radio talk show and a regular op-ed columnist for the New Vision, the leading English newspaper in Uganda. After graduating in 1977 with a Masters degree in the Theory and Practice of Automatic Control Systems, from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, United Kingdom, I worked as an Engineer in Lusaka, Zambia from 1976 to 1978 and later in the Uganda Coffee Marketing Board as an Electronics Engineer from 1980 to 1983.

Rank Consult Ltd has been in the Consultancy, Information Processing and Technology industry since 1983, and was one of the first Ugandan companies to predict the future importance of the ordinary Personal Computer (PC). It was developed and implemented with funds from DFID (UK). Our software systems development uses objective driven methodology including structured systems and information engineering techniques. Formal and structured methodologies have been followed in all our assignments. We always encourage our clients to participate and we emphasize team effort between the consultants and our clients.
