Mr. Ashish Bhatnagar has joined Ashok Leyland in December 2017 as DGM, Market lead Russia. He has done his Masters of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Volgograd State Technical University, Russia. He comes with a broad experience in automotive sector and has worked with leading automotive brands in India such as Tata Motors, Honda and Bajaj Auto Ltd. He comes with valuable experience of working in Domestic as well as International markets.
He started his career with Tata Motors and was instrumental in establishing Passenger Car products in North India and thus creating demand for the new business venture of the company. Established wide network of dealer infrastructure and assisted in after sales initiatives for Passenger Car Business Unit.
While working with Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Ltd. as Zonal Head, he has been responsible in developing and establishing market reach and product acceptance in the initial years of establishment of the company and spearheaded the most competitive markets of Northern India, including Delhi.
His stint in Bajaj Auto in International Business enabled him to closely and widely work in many African Markets and under his leadership, Bajaj Auto introduced several path-breaking products, some of which have re-defined the application and segments. He always had a keen eye to pick out the niches in the market. As a strategist, he looked at long term sustenance and gave top priority to brand, new market growth, sustainable profitability for OEM and channel partner and customer satisfaction.
Currently working with Ashok Leyland as Market Lead Russia and over and above to his current role, he is also responsible for all activities relating to coordination between the Product Verticals, Quality, Program, Finance, IO regions, IO Office in Dubai & Chennai in terms of sales, invoicing, new products, inspections & sign offs under new projects.
He has travelled to over 20 countries in pursuit of business and has a deep understanding of different cultures and business etiquettes. He is well versed with Russian Language and has a keen eye for finding new business opportunities.
